Supporting Literacy Warriors in Cianjur, MNC Peduli Distributes Hundreds of Reading Books
Cianjur – Many literacy fighters need to get support and appreciation from various parties in fueling the spirit of literacy in society, especially children.
One of them is Saung Baca Inspirasi which is located in Cugenang District, Cianjur, West Java. This reading hut collapsed due to the earthquake that occurred at the end of 2022. However, this reading hut immediately rose so that the enthusiasm for local children's literacy would not be extinguished.
The spirit of Saung Baca Inspirasi inspires MNC Peduli to support and optimize its mission to increase literacy. Therefore, MNC Peduli distributed hundreds of reading books to Saung Baca Inspirasi administrators and held positive activities for children on Thursday (28/3/2024)
"Thank God, MNC Peduli has provided books for children to read," said the Saung Baca Inspirasi administrator, Nurmuhimat.
According to him, books that previously were often read by children were lost and damaged after being hit by the Cianjur Earthquake in 2022.
"In the past, there were lots of books and children often read them, but after the earthquake, the books were damaged and lost. But now, after assistance from MNC Peduli, children can read again," he said.
He said he would like to thank MNC Peduli for caring about children reading. Because, he is concerned about the current situation, many children are focused on gudjet.
"I'm happy to see the children happy and able to read again, thank you MNC Peduli, I hope you continue to care and this book can be useful," he said.
Head of CSR MNC Group Tengku Havid expressed his appreciation for Saung Baca Inspirasi. "As we know, the reading level of Indonesian children is still very low. "So we, MNC Peduli, support the activities of Saung Baca Inspirasi for local children," said Tengku Havid.
Tengku Havid also said that this activity was part of the #GenerasiSerdasAnak Bangsa program. "We hope that through this program we can improve children's literacy," he said.
