Jakarta – In the context of the Chinese New Year, MNC Peduli is collaborating with the Saddhapala Vihara in holding a Chinese New Year commemoration for the underprivileged elderly on Saturday (28/1/2023).

A number of Chinese New Year traditions are carried out, such as worshiping together, giving red packets and eating together. In this activity, food assistance was also provided directly to the elderly who were present at the monastery or directly at their residence.

Chairwoman of MNC Peduli Jessica Tanoesoedibjo said that Chinese New Year celebrations can be celebrated by sharing concern for others. "Of course we can provide a little happiness for those who still need help," said Jessica.

"This activity is also our concern for the welfare of the elderly, especially those who are no longer productive and underprivileged," she added.

Saddhapala Vihara administrator, Eddy, expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by MNC Peduli.

"So today we received assistance from MNC Peduli for seniors (elderly people), we would like to express our gratitude. This is a plus value of caring for the elderly," he said.

He hopes that MNC Peduli will continue to do good towards others, especially helping people who are economically weak and elderly.

"In the future, we will be open to any kind of assistance. Hopefully we will always help people with low incomes in the future," he concluded.
