Collaborating with RSCM, MNC Peduli Targets Collecting Hundreds of Blood Bags
Jakarta – 400 blood bags are targeted to be collected in the MNC Love Donation Blood Donation activity for the May 2024 period. The blood donation activity involving MNC Group employees was held at the iNews Tower, Jalan Wahid Hasyim, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta on Tuesday (21/5/ 2024).
This activity is in collaboration with Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta. Head of the RSCM Blood Transfusion Unit, Elida Marpaung, said that the importance of blood donation activities initiated by various large companies is to further improve the health of both donors and patients who receive blood donations.
"We from RSCM express our great appreciation to MNC management for carrying out blood donation activities which are not only beneficial for our patients at RSCM but also provide health benefits to all employees who are willing to donate blood today," said Elida Marpaung.
He said that not too many companies see this activity as an activity that has an impact on both patients and employees who regularly donate blood. "Today we received registrations from 400 potential donors. We are targeting 300 people who can donate blood. As of 10 this morning, we have received 100 donors and around 100 bags of blood," he explained.
The blood collected in the blood donation activity called Elida will be very beneficial for RSCM patients. "We process it into three blood components, namely red blood cells, plasma and platelets. This means that from 100 bags of blood we get 300 blood components which can be transfused to our 300 patients at RSCM," he explained.
Elida hopes that blood donation activities can be carried out sustainably and can be imitated by other large companies. "The hope is that this activity can be carried out continuously and sustainably so that the things that are obstacles for us in serving patients can be overcome by collaborating with private parties like this. Our hope is that other large companies can follow what MNC is doing with RSCM all this time," concluded Elida.
