MNC Peduli and Park Hyatt Jakarta Distribute Food to Scavenger Residents in Menteng Dalam, South Jakarta

FAO highlights the level of food waste in Indonesia which is ranked 2nd highest in the world. There is a lot of edible food leftovers produced by restaurants, hotels, canteens and offices which can actually be beneficial for poor people.

MNC Peduli and Park Hyatt Jakarta, in collaboration with the Emmanuel Foundation, carry out activities by re-managing the remaining edible food produced so that it can be distributed to people in need, especially to underprivileged families. In the distribution process, the food is first sorted for suitability, weighed as a reference for the number of food recipients and kept clean and repackaged.

MNC Peduli and Park Hyatt Jakarta distributed surplus food to hundreds of residents in Menteng Dalam, South Jakarta, some of whose residents are grave diggers and scavengers.

It is hoped that this activity can help the community reduce their daily food requirements and also fulfill adequate nutritional intake.

By using edible food for social activities, you can also avoid wasting food.
