JAKARTA – In observance of Earth Day, MNC Peduli and Park Hyatt Jakarta partnered to share nutritious meals and environmental awareness with waste-picker communities in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, on Monday (April 21, 2025).

The initiative, aimed at reducing food waste and enhancing social impact, reflects a commitment to inclusive sustainability ensuring that surplus food is not only saved from being discarded but redirected meaningfully to those in need.

“At MNC Peduli, we work closely with hospitality partners through a food waste program that allows surplus food to be safely collected and distributed,” explained David, Chef De Partie at Park Hyatt Jakarta. “Rather than letting it go to waste, we ensure it reaches the communities that need it the most.”

The food distributed, ranging from bread and eggs to noodles and meat, was prepared and handled to maintain nutritional integrity and safety. Beyond physical nourishment, the program provided a sense of dignity and care for underserved communities.

The event also featured an interactive educational session themed “Save Our Earth!” for children in the local community, followed by singing activities that fostered joy, connection, and environmental awareness.

“This is about more than meals,” David added. “It’s about solidarity, sustainability, and shared humanity.”

Through such efforts, MNC Peduli and Park Hyatt Jakarta reaffirm their commitment to delivering not just resources, but also respect and education empowering communities while honoring the spirit of Earth Day.
