MNC Peduli Holds Eye Examinations and Helps with Glasses for 300 Elementary School Students in Kendal

Kendal - As many as 300 elementary school (SD) students in Kendal underwent eye examinations and received free glasses from MNC Peduli in collaboration with the Onesight Essilorluxottica Foundation, Thursday (16/3/2023).

Hundreds of elementary school students representing 20 sub-districts throughout Kendal Regency, Central Java also received multivitamins for eye health.

This free eye examination was carried out at Pendopo Bahurekso Kendal, which was divided into two sessions considering the large number of participants. These elementary school students are representatives appointed by the Kendal Education and Culture Service.

Chairman of MNC Peduli, Syafril Nasution, explained that the elementary school students were very enthusiastic. Each sub-district is represented by 15 children who are the result of selection and are really children who need glasses.

"These glasses will help children learn so they are not disturbed by poor eye conditions," he said.

Syafril Nasution, who is also Director of Corporate Secretary at MNC Group, said that such assistance would continue to be provided. MNC Peduli even plans to return to Kendal to provide the second phase of similar assistance.

Secretary of the Kendal Education and Culture Service, Dwi Cahyono Suryo, revealed that in his area there are 20 Korwil and each sends 15 children.

"This program is very good because it can help children learn. So they can focus on getting lessons from teachers. This is in accordance with the Kendal Regent's mission and vision to improve human resources / in facing the 4.0 revolution," he explained.

Kristina Rany Novita from Onesight EssilorLuxottica Foundation said, in accordance with its vision and mission to provide good vision to people around the world, her company collaborates with MNC Peduli to provide free glasses.

Kristina said that her party has been collaborating with MNC Peduli since 2016. To date, more than 13,000 free glasses have been given to elementary school (SD) children throughout Indonesia.

One of the elementary school students who received free glasses, Nayaka Kuina Putri Susanto, who lives in Kaliwungu, admitted that she was happy to be able to get free glasses. "So far, if you don't wear glasses, it will be difficult to read because of blurred vision," he said.

Meanwhile, eye examinations are carried out using modern equipment and using the reading method children's eyes are examined.

After going through the examination, these children immediately received glasses. For those who have not received it because the size is not suitable, it will be sent later to the recipient's address.
