Cianjur – More than 500 educational facilities were damaged and destroyed by the earthquake that hit Cianjur in November 2022. As a result of this massive damage, the teaching and learning process was forced to stop.

To catch up due to the learning process, currently children in Cianjur have started to go to school. Even though the school building is still under repair and they still have to study in emergency classroom tents, this does not dampen the children's enthusiasm for learning.

Emergency class tent assistance is currently something that is really needed in the post-emergency response recovery period. Therefore, MNC Peduli distributed community donations in the form of emergency tents to SDN Cimanahayu, Mangunkerta, Kec. Cugenang, Cianjur Regency, West Java.

The head of Cimanahayu Elementary School, Jajang Budiman, is grateful for the assistance provided by MNC Peduli. With this assistance, he said, the burden on schools could be reduced and students could return to studying even in tents.

"Our school was badly damaged during the earthquake, and could not be used. That's why it was destroyed and can be used again after being built," he said, Tuesday (31/1/2023).

Grade 5 student at SDN Cimanahayu, Jahlan hopes that the school building can be completed soon. Because, learning conditions in buildings and schools are very different.

"I hope the school building can be finished quickly so that my friends and I can study. The tents are muddy when it rains. And thank God, there are tents given by MNC Peduli, so we are helped a little," he said.
