MNC Peduli Targets 450 Underprivileged Residents in 9 East Java Cities to Get Free Cataract and Pterygium Surgery

Sidoarjo – MNC Peduli continues to be committed to distributing community assistance through health programs. This time, MNC Peduli is targeting 450 underprivileged residents in 9 East Java cities to receive free cataract and pterygium surgery services. This activity is a collaboration with the EDC Eye Clinic.

Currently, 70 Sidoarjo residents look enthusiastic while undergoing screening for free surgery at the EDC Throughout Eye Clinic in Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java on Thursday (16/11/2023).

Apart from undergoing screening, participants and invited guests also received education regarding eye health presented by practicing doctors from the EDC Eye Clinic.

One of the residents of Sidoarjo, East Java, Yopa Suwikyo, appreciated the cataract surgery and distribution of free glasses held by MNC Peduli and EDC Group.

Yopa admitted that he was happy to be able to undergo cataract surgery, which he had suffered from for more than five years. So far, he has not had the money to carry out eye surgery independently.

"This (eye condition) has improved, I feel that this event has helped a lot, hopefully it can continue so that many people are helped," he said.

Head of CSR MNC Group Tengku Havid hopes that this activity can help residents in East Java.

"Hopefully this operation can help people get better vision and can be useful in their daily activities to remain productive," said Tengku Havid.

In the first stage, 57 East Java residents participated in free cataract and pterygium surgery at 9 EDC Eye Clinic points. The 9 cities and districts in question are Sidoarjo, Bangkalan, Bangil, Mojosari, Mojoagung, Magetan, Tulungagung, Nganjuk and Trenggalek.
