KAI Pusaka Foundation Welcomes MNC Group Collaboration, Emphasizes the Importance of CSR for Remote Area Development

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Railway Heritage Foundation (KAI) Joko Margono welcomed the initiation of the MNC Group collaboration through the 2024 CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) National Synergy or SINAR.

Joko views that collaborative CSR allocation in the social sector can further maximize infrastructure development in remote areas and remote villages throughout Indonesia.

Joko explained that the use of CSR for equitable infrastructure development throughout Indonesia is very important, especially in remote areas. He even said that equal access to infrastructure was still needed, even on the island of Java.

"The development of adequate infrastructure to be built in remote areas is very necessary. Even in East Java, there is still a need to build bridges for residents, which is still minimal. Especially in Sumatra, Sulawesi and others," explained Joko, Wednesday (16/ 10/2024).

Joko said that infrastructure, such as road access between settlements, use of clean water, and hospitals, is still needed in every corner of underdeveloped areas. For this reason, Joko is optimistic that the SINAR initiative can maximize equitable development, especially to support equitable economic growth.

"We hope that if this collaboration program is realized and continues, it will be very good. On our side, infrastructure development near railway lines will be very helpful," said Joko.

Previously, Deputy Chairperson of MNC Peduli Jessica Tanoesoedibjo said that national CSR synergy, or SINAR for short, was a joint initiative so that corporations and the government could jointly implement CSR. Jessica emphasized that the initiation of collaboration on joint CSR activities is expected to become mutual cooperation work together to provide a contribution that has a greater impact.

"This collaborative partnership activity between corporations, government and philanthropic institutions is aimed at carrying out CSR activities that have a greater impact on society," explained Jessica.

Jessica emphasized that the SINAR collaboration will prioritize CSR activities targeting infrastructure development throughout rural or remote areas of Indonesia.

"By focusing CSR on infrastructure development, it can have a big impact because of access to roads, electricity, clean water, information, it can contribute to more sustainable development," she said.

It is known that the CSR Gathering activity with the theme National Synergy CSR Indonesia Forward was attended by various business people and philanthropic institutions in Indonesia, it is hoped that they can collaborate to provide an integrated program to improve community welfare.

MNC Group as the largest media group in Southeast Asia, through the role of Executive Chairman of MNC Group, Mr. Hary Tanoesoedibjo, held the 2024 CSR National Synergy event which was held on Wednesday 16 October 2024 at the MNC Conference Hall, iNews Tower, Jakarta.

CSR collaboration activities in national infrastructure development encourage the role of business actors and philanthropic activities in Indonesia to be able to synergize and collaborate in social activities. This also emphasizes the infrastructure sector which can have a positive impact on the wider community, especially underprivileged communities and business actors themselves.
